It is the hardest thing to do, when you have to say goodbye to your best friend. If dogs could talk, this is what they would say to you!
"The day will come when we need to say goodbye to each other!
Remember, the smiles I brought to your face.
Remember, the laughter we shared.
Remember, the alone time we had together.
Remember, how much I love you.
But most of all remember, I will live in your heart forever"
I can see this in their eyes when the time comes for us to say goodbye! They take a piece of my heart with them every time I have to say goodbye. Dogs are put on this earth to teach us so many things. How to love unconditionally is the biggest one. I couldn't imagine life without a dog.
Even though it hurts my heart to say goodbye, I know my 4 legged best friends would always want me to have a dog by my side. When the time is right, I find another best friend to rescue from a shelter or sometimes they find me. I have loved each and everyone of my dogs. A portion of this sale will be donated to an animal rescue group that help all the unwanted souls at animal shelters. Visit your local shelter and adopt your next best friend!

Oh Fiona what a heartwarming poem and description! Brought tears to my eyes..I know what it is like to loose 'a best friend' as I have lost many over the years but they are never forgotten and will live in my heart forever. The two I have now are both getting on, one 11 and the other 12 and I dread the day when I have to say goodbye! l/f/p/t

Fiona, Your verse (from a dog's perspective) brought tears to my eyes, recalling saying goodbye to our past dogs. Today my wife and I are blessed to have 6 grandchildren, and 5 grand-dogs. It saddens us to think about the heartaches ahead for our children and grandchildren when their dogs pass. Remembering your poem will help lessen the pain.... Thank you! L&F

Fiona this is beautiful. I just had to say goodbye to my fur baby a week ago. We loved him for 15 years. When the time is right I will adopt. Thank you for this lovely piece. I've been working on one for my baby.
Fiona Kennard replied:
Oh Ginny, I am so sorry for your loss! I know how hard it is to say goodbye! Everytime I have to say goodbye they take a piece of my heart with them. It hurts, in time you will find another fur baby to share your life with. I can tell you are an animal lover. I am glad you liked this piece. It was spoken from my heart. Take care.

Very nice image! Love the transparent tones in the dog's ears. The poem reminds me of Prevert's poem: "Les feuilles mottes".
